Radio Cowboy performs on Saturday at Cannon Beach's LUSH Wine Bar.(Cannon Beach, Oregon) - Three days of art, music and literary fun will make the town of Cannon Beach swell with thousands of well entertained people, with the 23rd annual Stormy Weather Arts Festival on November 5 to 7.This year's event is being touted as perhaps the largest ever, with more galleries, stores and other businesses taking part. There's a huge range of artists – in the visual realm, musicians and writers – all the center of an art walk, gallery receptions, photo exhibits, shows and a “So You Think You Can Paint” event."The Quick Draw" is always a festival highlight, found at the Surfsand Resort. This fascinating event kicks off the weekend of activities on Friday, November 5 as artists create their own individual "masterpieces" from raw materials - in one hour. Pieces will then be auctioned. Some photos will be auctioned as well. Two other major highlights of the festival are local band Radio Cowboy and artist Deb Minkler.Radio Cowboy does a gig at LUSH Wine Bar on Saturday, November 6, at 8 p.m.The Manzanita-based trio features Frogtown recording artists Heather Christie and Philip Pelletier, along with San Francisco-based musician David Miottel. They combine an intriguing mix of styles into a moody kind of Americana, with inspirations from varied artists like Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Gillian Welch, Counting Crows, Emmy Lou Harris, Mark Knopfler and Dead Can Dance. The Inn at Cannon Beach will showcase Deb Minkler for the Stormy Weather Arts Festival on all three days, featuring an artist reception on November 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with wines by The Pines Winery out of Hood River.Portland artist Deb Minkler has been creating art from the start. Drawing and painting her way through school and life, she makes her living as a graphic designer, illustrator, and fine artist in Portland. This will be her first time participating in Cannon Beach’s Stormy Weather Arts Festival and her second show at the Inn.
