Courteney Cox has admitted that it "hurt" that she was never nominated for an Emmy for Friends.Cox's Friends co-stars David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow all received Emmy nods while the show was on air.
Cox has now confessed that she was upset about missing out on a nomination.
"When the first person was nominated for an Emmy, I think it was Schwimmer, you're so excited," she told TV Line. "Then the second person, so excited.
"The only time I was like 'Whoa!' was [when Aniston and Kudrow were both nominated] and not me. I had a hard time not taking it personally when it was both Lisa and Jennifer at the same time. One guy, one girl, whatever. But both girls and not me? It hurt. I'm very sensitive, though."
However, Cox explained that she would still "love to be nominated" for an Emmy for her new show Cougar Town.
"God, it would be such an honour," she said. "I'd be so excited. I'd probably be one of those people who just cried. I wish I could say I didn't care about stuff like that. Maybe if I didn't, it would be some kind of karmic thing for me, but I actually do. I think it's nice to be recognised. [Not being nominated] makes me go, 'Oh s**t, maybe I don't know what the f**k I'm doing'."
Cox also revealed that being nominated for Cougar Town would "mean more" than a nod for Friends would have.
"Don't get me wrong, it would have been great back then," she said. "But I think it would mean that I'm on another show that is regarded and is written and performed as well as [Friends] in some way."
Cox has previously confessed that her "ego got really bruised" when she missed out on an Emmy nod.
The nominations for this year's Emmys will be announced on July 14. The ceremony, which will be hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, will be held on September 18.
