Having joined the McNair program for undergraduate research last year at Temple, I’ve been trying to find a topic that suits my research interest. My initial idea was an analysis of the film, Coming to America and its treatment of the African immigrant. While I found this topic extremely interesting, I wanted to research something that had more relevancy to me as a young African American Muslim woman and aspiring media-maker. As of yet, I still haven’t found what that is. Hopefully, this summer I’ll be able to find what that interests is and begin work on a research project that I hope to present at next year’s Temple’s Undergraduate Research Conference. We’ll see.
