Cabarrus Health Alliance Groundbreaking

We heartily welcome our soon-to-be neighbors in downtown Kannapolis! On Friday the Cabarrus Health Alliance broke ground on their new facility at 300 Mooresville Rd., at the corner of Dale Earnhardt Blvd. (across from Southern Select Credit Union). Their 61,000 square foot, environmentally friendly building will be completed by early 2012 and will bring additional activity to the downtown Kannapolis area. Over 200 public health workers and professionals, as well as patients and other visitors will be an important part of our downtown fabric.

CHA will move from their current facility at the corner of Dale Earnhardt Blvd and S. Cannon Blvd., allowing Cabarrus County to use the existing facility for additional space for Social Services and other departments.

CHA is considered nationally to serve as a model for an innovative public health agency. CHA has its own governing board (versus being a county department) and provides dental and health care services (like immunizations, prenatal care, and school health nurses), as well as addressing health and sanitation inspections, environmental health, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The proximity of CHA to the NC Research Campus will allow for easier collaboration amongst these organizations. The vision is for CHA to be the entity to help deliver the science coming out of NCRC to benefit local citizens. Filed under: Uncategorized
