Ex-head charged with child sex abuse

27 April 2014 Last updated at 17:20 A former Norfolk head teacher has been charged with a number of serious sexual offences against a pupil at an independent school about 40 years ago.

David Tuohy, of White House Road, Oxford, has been charged with four counts of sexual assault and four counts of a serious sexual offence.

The charges relate to a boy under the age of 13.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in the mid-1970s at Eccles Hall School, Quidenham, near Attleborough.

The school is now known as the New Eccles Hall School.

Mr Tuohy was bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

'Big Brother's Victor charged with assault

Sunday, November 21 2010, 14:22 GMT Ultimate Big Brother - Victor EbuwaBig Brother star Victor Ebuwa has been charged with two counts of common assault, it has been reported.

The reality star was arrested after attacking two men who mocked his appearances on the Channel 4 show, the News of the World reports. The alleged incident happened in bar The Minories, East London on Friday, October 15.

A source explained: "Insults were hurled and then punches were thrown and one of the victims was left with a busted nose."

A City of London Police spokesman said: "Victor Ebuwa, of Hackney, is due to appear before City of London Magistrates on the 23rd of November charged with two counts of common assault."

Two charged with athlete murder

1 January 2011 Last updated at 16:37 Sylvester Akapalara Sylvester Akapalara was shot in the neck and chest on Wednesday Two people have been charged with murdering a "model athlete" in south London.

Sylvester Akapalara, 17, of Streatham, was shot dead in a stairwell on the Pelican Estate in Peckham on Wednesday.

Sodiq Adeojo, 18, and a 17-year-old male have been charged with the killing. They are due at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on 3 January.

Sylvester, a Sierra Leonian national, was said to be in the top 30 in the country for 400m running.

Steve Bosley, of athletics club the Herne Hill Harriers, said he was "quiet and unassuming".

More than 760 people have joined a Facebook group set up in memory of the teenager, who was also known as Sylvester Da Donappa.

He was found bleeding to death on the fourth floor of Heron House on the Pelican Estate and had been shot in the neck and chest.
